Pick'em Challenge · Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A purchase does not improve your chances of winning.
- Sponsor. Scout Lab (scoutlabhq.com), P.O. Box 23514, San Jose, CA 95153. The challenge is not sponsored, endorsed or run by, or affiliated with, any state high school athletic association, conference, school or league.
- Eligibility. Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C. who are 13 or older. Anyone under 18 needs a parent's or guardian's permission to take part. Void where prohibited.
- How to play. On scoutlabhq.com/playoffs, open a state's "Make your picks" panel, type your school in the optional "Your school (fans)" field, and pick the winner of the listed games. No name, phone number or account is needed. One pick per game per device. Picks lock at kickoff.
- Scoring. Each correct game pick earns 1 point for the school entered with it. A pick is settled only after Scout Lab enters the real final result. Each state has a leaderboard of schools ranked by correct picks (football and girls' flag are separate leaderboards), with average accuracy shown. A school needs at least 10 settled picks to be ranked. Ties are broken by higher accuracy, then by Scout Lab's choice.
- Prize. The #1 ranked school on each state's final leaderboard (most correct picks) wins a Scout Lab Sponsorship; football and girls' flag each have their own winner per state. Prize: one Scout Lab Season Package (opponent scouting reports for the rest of the school's current season), for the head coach of the winning school's football team (or girls' flag team, for a flag leaderboard). Approximate retail value: $750. Not transferable, no cash value. One prize per state. The coach claims it with the "Claim your prize" form on the Playoff Watch page. Reports require usable game film of each opponent.
- Winners. Winners are announced on scoutlabhq.com/playoffs and on Scout Lab's Instagram (@scoutlab_hq) within 7 days after each state's final game.
- Fair play. Scout Lab may disqualify picks, schools or entries that involve fraud, bots, scripts, mass or duplicate voting, or anything that undermines fair play, and may exclude them from leaderboards.
- Data. Picks are stored as counts with the school name typed. An email typed into "Notify me if my school wins" is used only to tell you about your school's result. Scout Lab does not sell it.
- General. Brackets, matchups and dates come from each state association; results are entered by Scout Lab after games are final. Scout Lab may change or end the challenge if something outside its control affects it. Questions: use the contact form at scoutlabhq.com/#pide.
